Forum 2014

From 22 to 25 October 2014, more than 60 young Nantes and European citizens and holders of innovative projects met in Nantes for the 6th edition of the Nantes Creative Generations Forum

Nantes and European project holders gathered for 3 days in Nantes

The 6th edition of NCG Forum welcomed a significantly big number of projects from Nantes. In total 9 initiatives from the metropolis (that deal with such themes as environment, media, culture etc.) were represented at the meeting.

During 3 days they had the opportunity to exchange with the representatives of 19 European projects from 15 different countries and (almost) the same amount of cities: Athens, Vilnius, Amsterdam, Bristol, Warsaw, Tbilisi, Ghent, Ljubljana, Gijon, Saarbrücken, Chisinau, etc.

All these participants are now part of the NCG network that gathers since 2009 young engaged European citizens. The network, that continues to grow, consists today of more than 250 participants!

Diverse and tight programme

2014 NCG edition offered reinforced programme that was better adapted to the needs of our participants. During 3 days their work focused on meeting different projects (mainly around special furniture made from recyclable materials by the association ECOS) and preparation of transnational projects.

In the participants’ programme:

- Exchange of experience gained with their local projects
- Learning skills to extend their initiatives with European dimension
- City visits
- Moments of leisure and cultural discoveries

Workshops dedicated to the creation of projects

Big part of the programme of the Forum was dedicated to the workshops and work in smaller groups, mainly around creation and organisation of transnational projects: methods, tools, networks, partners, etc. All the workshops were prepared and animated by the partner associations of NCG.

NCG on Tour 2014 presentation

The Forum also welcomed the young people from Nantes who participated in NCG on Tour. During the summer of 2014, three small groups independently visited Rhodes (Greece), Sofia (Bulgaria) and Tbilisi (Georgia) to meet former participants of the Forum and members of the NCG network. The Forum was an opportunity for them to share their experience and present the report they produced after their trip.
